Michael Rosenberg Jury President – Director and Producer (África do Sul)
Michel Rosenberg nasceu na África do Sul. No começo da década de sessenta se mudou para o Reino Unido e estudou tecnologia fotográfica. Fundou, com Christopher Nupen, a Allegro Films. Em 1969, trabalhou na BBC como assistente de edição. Em 1972, produziu seu primeiro documentário “Natural History”, exibido na série da BBC “World About Us”, dirigida por Christopher Parsons. Em 1974, criou a Partridge Films, que se tornou conhecida por produzir documentários sobre vida selvagem de alta qualidade. Em 1982, o filme “Etosha - Place of Dry Water”, produzido por David Hughes pela Partridge, ganhou o primeiro Prêmio Wildscreen Golden Panda. O prêmio foi recebido pela National Geographic, produtora do filme. Partridge Films produziu para o Channel 4 a série “Fragile Earth” com seis episódios e o programa “Korup – An African Rainforest” que ganhou o prêmio científico da Wildscreen. Em 1984, a série “Siarau - Tidal Forest” ganhou o Prêmio Wildscreen Golden Panda. Em 1988, o segundo programa de uma série de 3 partes feito para a BBC ganhou o Prêmio Wildscreen Golden Panda. Os programas produzidos com Howard Hall “Seasons of the Sea” e “Shadows in a Desert Sea” ganharam, respectivamente em 1990 e 1992, o Prêmio Wildscreen Golden Panda. Em 1986, o filme “Lords of Hokkaido” venceu o prêmio de melhor filme estrangeiro. A Partridge ganhou outros prêmios incluindo dois Emmy em 1991 e 1992, e o “Queen’s Award for Export Achievement” em 1992 e 1999. Em 1996, Michel Rosenberg vendeu sua parte da Partridge Films e atualmente mora na África do Sul, onde criou uma nova produtora de filmes, a Peartree Films, produzindo filmes sobre história natural.

Maud Fontenoy Iatista and Vice-Presidente do "Conservatoire National du Littoral" (France)
Maud Fontenay nasceu em 1977. Aos sete dias de vida, embarcou a bordo da escuna da família e passou seus próximos 15 anos velejando. De volta a França, trabalhou como supervisora de uma agência imobiliária e foi presidente fundadora da federação francesa de veleiros e barcos a remo. Por causa de sua paixão em passar adiante suas experiências, Maud fundou uma associação cujo objetivo é ensinar jovens de bairros desfavorecidos a velejar. Em 2003, é a primeira mulher a cruzar, num barco a remo, o Atlântico Norte e dois anos mais tarde, o Pacífico. Em 2007, é a primeira mulher francesa a dar a volta ao redor do mundo a bordo de um veleiro a contra-vento, saindo e chegando na Ilha da Reunião. Sempre com a mesma determinação, mesmo desejo de realização e mesma paixão, Maud se lança em novos desafios por amor ao mar, a natureza e ao próximo, dividindo com entusiasmo sua paixão pela aventura com as crianças da França e do mundo. Embaixadora do “Desafio da Terra” da Fundação Nicolas Hulot, membro da associação francesa de exploradores, Maud se dedica a sua grande paixão : a vela associada ao desejo de transmitir seus valores. Atualmente é vice-presidente do “Conservatoire National du Littoral” cujo objetivo é proteger os oceanos, o litoral e de modo geral aumentar a conscientização do público jovem sobre a proteção do planeta.

Titouan Lamazou Velejador and Artista (France)
Com 17 anos de idade, Titouan Lamazou decidiu viajar ao redor do mundo para escrever um diário de bordo e escolheu o barco como meio de transporte oferecendo seus serviços como marinheiro aos navios em escala. Foi assim que conheceu Yvon Fauconnier e, em 1975, embarcou a bordo do “Vendredi 13”. Mais tarde, durante dois anos, se tornou colega de equipe de Eric Tabarly a bordo do Pen Duick VI. Vinte anos mais tarde, após ter ganhado o campeonato mundial de regatas oceânicas, ele decide retomar a vida artística, sua primeira vocação, publicando diversos trabalhos antes de se dedicar a “Mulheres do Mundo”, projeto em que vem trabalhando desde 2002.

Char Serwa Vice Presidente de Produção do Canal National (United States)
Serwa começou sua carreira na televisão com o lançamento do canal “Travel Channel” em Nova York. De 1987 a 1997, trabalhou inicialmente como gerente de produção, depois como diretora de produção até se tornar diretora de desenvolvimento de programas. De 1999 a 2005, Serwa foi produtora executiva na TLC, sendo responsável pela direção criativa de diversos programas de sucesso exibidos em horário nobre. Antes de entrar na TLC, Serwa foi produtora sênior na Audubon Productions, responsável pela premiada série “Wild!Life Adventures” feita para a TBS. Em 2005, Serwa trabalhou para NGC como produtora executiva, foi rapidamente promovida à produtora executiva sênior, e logo vice-presidente de produção. É responsável pela supervisão criativa da popular série “O Encantador de Cães”, indicada ao Emmy, cujo centésimo episódio foi ao ar em 2008. Supervisiona com sucesso a programação para a rede, incluindo as séries “L.A. Hard Hats” e “The Final Report”, e especiais como “The Girl with Eight Limbs”, “Saddam Hussein’s Reign of Terror”, “Triple Cross”, e “Challenger: The Untold Story”. Como reconhecimento por suas diversas realizações durante seus últimos 20 anos de carreira, Serwa ganhou diversos “Freddie Awards”, dois “Cine Golden Eagle Awards”, um “Telly”, um “International Wildlife Film Festival Award”, diversos “Cable ACE” e uma indicação ao Emmy.

Yoichi Komatsuzawa Festival de Tokyo (Japan)
Bacharel da universidade de Sendai, e um Master em Design, Yoichi Komatzouzawa fez uma belíssima carreia de jornalista e ao mesmo tempo membro legítimo do cine-clube de Tóquio. Quando terminou seus estudos na França, voltou para o Japão e tornou-se um dos jornalistas mais importantes especializados no cinema internacional. No final dos anos 80, quando criou o festival internacional de Tóquio, lançou Tokyo Fanta e Yubari. Hoje, ele é produtor e consultor do Festival de Filme de Tóquio.

Neville D´Almeida Filmmaker, Screenwriter, Actor, Photographer and Plastic Artist (Brazil)
He started his cinema career, in the legendary C.E.C – "Centro de Estudos Cinematograficos" (Centre of Cinematographic studies). He was one of the founders of CEMICE – "Centro Mineiro de Cinema Experimental" (Minas Gerais Experimental Cinema Centre) and he studies Theatre in T.U – Teatro Universitário de Minas Gerais. In 1973, he created and implemented, together with Helio Oiticica, the work "Cosmococa- Program in Progress", showed in many Brazilian and international art institutions. With his free and daring style he has become one of the most polemic Brazilian filmmakers. Persecuted by the censorship of the Military Dictatorship he had his films: Jardim de Guerra, Piranhas do Asfalto, prohibited and interdicted and never shown. There are other films that were also prohibited, such as Mangue Bangue, A Dama do Lotaçao, Os Sete Gatinhos, Rio Babilonia, Matou a Família de Foi ao Cinema, Navalha na Carne, Maksuara – Crepusculo dos Deuses. He has been awarded many times. He received the best director award (Brasilia Film Festival - 1991); Glauber Rocha trophy from Brasilia Critics Association (1991); best director award in Gramado Film Festival (1992). He was the president of the Brazilian Association of filmmakers from 1990 to 1992. His film "Rio Babilonia" got a record of audience in Brazilian cinema and television. A Dama da Lotação" was his second most seen film in the history of Brazilian Cinema. Neville d´Almeida has written 15 cinematographic screenplays and a book so far. In the last five years he produced and directed 20 documentaries, five art-video, and he has been dedicating himself to Experimental Cinema.

She is responsible for a lot of well-known qualified and innovative productions. She has produced the long films " A Casa de Alice" (Alice's House) from Chico Teixeira, "Sentidos à Flor da Pele" (Under skin Senses), "À Margem do Concreto" (At Margin of Concrete) and "Jardim Ângela" (Angela Garden) from Evaldo Mocarzel, "Como Fazer Um Filme de Amor" (How to make a Love Story Film) from José Roberto Torero, "No Rio das Amazonas" (On Amazonas River) and "Fé" (Faith) from Ricardo Dias, "Tônica Dominante" (Overwhelming Tonic) from Lina Chamie, "Urbânia" (Urban) from Flavio Frederico, "O Cineasta da Selva" (The Jungle Cinematographer) from Aurélio Michiles, "Beijo 2348-72" (2348-72 Kiss) from Walter Rogério, "Capitalismo Selvagem" (Wild Capitalism) from André Klotzel and "Anjos da Noite" (Angels of the Night) from Wilson Barros. She has also produced documentaries for TV and amongst them, the awarded series "O Povo Brasileiro" (Brazilian People), directed by Isa Ferraz. She is the president of "Associação Cultural Kinoforum" (Kinoforum Cultural Association), a non-profitable entity that, beyond the "Festival Internacional de Curtas Metragens de São Paulo" (São Paulo Short Films International Festival), produces "Oficinas Kinoforum de Realização Audiovisual" (Kinoforum Audiovisual Realization Workshops), edits "Guia Brasileiro de Festivais de Cinema e Vídeo" (Brazilian Cinema and Video Guide) and promotes activities connected to Brazilian Cinema broadcasting in Brazil and overseas.

Torquato Joel Short films producer and Screenwriter (Paraíba - Brazil)
Graduated in Social Communication from Universidade Federal da Paraíba (Paraiba Federal University - UFPB), he has studied cinema at "Association Varan" (Varan Association) in Paris (France) and at "Atelier de Cinema Direto" (Direct Cinema Workshop) from UFPB. Amongst his films, some of them were awarded in national and international festivals, such as: "Passadouro" (19 awards in festivals, including best movie and best movie direction in Gramado Festival), "Transubstancial" (15 awards, including the criticism prize in Brasilia Festival) and "À Margem da Luz" (At the Light Margin, 14 prizes). He has been teaching at screenplays workshops as an invited guest from festivals and institutions all over Brazil. He was editor of the cinema fanzine "A Tela Demoníaca" (The Demonic Screen). Currently, he is the production director of "Coordenação de Extensão Cultural" (Cultural Extension Coordination) from UFPB.

She directed the documentary "Presente dos Deuses" (Present of Gods - Tv Zero and RioArte, 2001). She was also the chief-producer of " Atrocidades Maravilhosas" (Wonderful Atrocities, 2002). Author of "Cinema em Azul, Branco e Vermelho – a trilogia de Kieslowski (Cinema in blue, White and red – Kieslowski trilogy, Sette Letras, 1996), of "Terras e fronteiras no Cinema político contemporâneo" (Lands and Boundaries in the Political and Contemporary Cinema - Faperj, 2003). He is director of VIACG animation Studio, responsible for hundreds advertising plays and participation in several short and feature films in Ceará. He was the Graphic Computer Director on the creation of CEARÁ TV Station and Art Coordinator of "O Povo" TV Station implementation. Márcio Ramos is the short film director "Vida Maria" (Mary Life),which has won more than 50 national and international prizes, being the 35mm short film awarded in 4th Amazonas Film Festival.

He graduated in Communication in 1996 from (University of Brazil, currently, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – Rio de Janeiro Federal University). He had been working on cultural journalism from 1968 to 2000, as a redactor, editor, news chief and newspaper writer and music and TV critic f the following newspapers: "A Crítica" (The Criticism - Manaus), "O Globo" (The Globe), "Última Hora" (Last Hour – all from Rio de Janeiro), "Tribuna da Imprensa" (Press Tribune) and "Amiga" (Girlfriend). At Cinema field, he made some short films in Manaus and in Rio de Janeiro, he wrote the screenplays to four movies to "Os Trapalhões" (A Brazilian Comedy Group called Os Trapalhões), including the group's blockbuster (more than 5 million watchers), "Os Trapalhões nas Minas do Rei Salomão" (Trapalhões in King Solomon's mines); Press Assistant of FestRio from 1986 to 1988; participant, as a special guest, of Havana International Film Festival in Cuba, in 1988; honored in 2005, in the 1th Amazonas Film Festival, held in Manaus. He has the following books published: author of "Chanchadas e Dramalhões", published by Funarte in 2002; co-author, with Roberto da Matta and Sérgio Augusto, of "A Arte Sacana de Carlos Zéfiro" (Carlos Zéfiro's Filthy Art), organizer of "Sacanas Made in USA" (Filthy fellows made in USA) and co-author of "A História da Camiseta" (The T-shirt story). Researcher in the area of Communication and Culture with focus in issues related to communication, audiovisual production and new technologies in contemporaneous culture. Ivana Bentes is doctor in Communication from the Federal university of Rio de Janeiro, where she teaches for the Post-graduation Program in Communication and Culture. She is also the director of the School of Communication at UFRJ. His first long film was the documentary "O Velho" (The elder), the story of Luiz Carlos Prestes (1997), directed by Toni Venturi, with whom he came to work again in "Latitude Zero"(Zero Latitude, 2001), best screenplay in the festivals of Brasilia and Ceará; "Cabra Cega" (2004), best screenplay in Brasilia, and "Antes da Noite" (Before Night) to be filmed in the beginning of next year. He has also written the films "As vidas de Maria" (Maria's lives, 2002), from Renato Barbieri, "Filhas do Vento" (Daughters of the wind, 2003), from Joel Zito Araújo (got 8 kikito prizes in Gramado festival); "Simples Mortais" (Simple Mortals, 2006), from Mauro Giuntini and "Nossa Vida Não cabe num Opala" (Our life doesn't fit an Opala – a kind of car – 2007), from Reinaldo Pinheiro, best screenplay in the festivals of Ceará and Pernambuco. Currently, he's been working on the pre-production of the movies "A Última Estação" (the Last Station), "No olho da Rua" (Out there on the streets) and "O pai da Rita" (The Father of Rita).

He was a professor of specialization courses on Cinema Criticism and Journalism at FAAP University in São Paulo. Clélia Bessa Producer (Curitiba - Brazil)
She was born in Curitiba, but was brought up in Manaus. Her major is Social Science from UFRJ (Rio de Janeiro Federal University). She is a Production Professor in the Cinema Course of PUC-RJ (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro). In 1986, she joined "Embrafilme" working on special markets area, but also going through the following companies: Globo TV Station, Synapse Distributor with Julio Worckman and Fundação do Cinema Brasileiro (Brazilian Cinema Foundation). Since 1996, she's been "Raccord Produções" (Raccord Productions) partner. She is the producer of the first "Canal para Celular – Humanóides" (Cellular Channel – Human Beings) – in its second season. She signed the production of following movies: Cartola, from Lírio Ferreira and Hilton Lacerda; Cafuné, from Bruno Vianna; Mais Uma Vez Amor (Love once again), from Rosane Svartman, Minha Vida de Menina (my life as a girl), from Helena Soldberg, Separações (Separations) ,from Domingos Oliveira, O Rap do Pequeno Príncipe Contra as Almas Sebosas (The Little Price Rap Against Tallowish Souls), from Paulo Caldas and Marcelo Luna and Como Ser Solteiro (How to be single), from Rosane Svartman. She has produced more than 10 short-length films, such as: Amar (Loving), Anjos Urbanos (Urban Angels), O Cabeça de Copacabana (The Copacabana Head), Para Ser Feliz Para Sempre (To be happy Forever). In television has also produced several series, signed the production of more than 15 video clips.
